Frankel Statement on State of the Union
Washington, DC – Congresswoman Lois Frankel (FL-22) released the following statement after President Obama’s State of the Union address:
“Tonight President Obama confirmed what I hear from South Floridians over and over: We must focus on creating jobs and getting people back to work by investing in education, innovation and infrastructure, while reducing our deficit in a responsible way,” Frankel said. “Now it’s up to Democrats and Republicans in Congress to work together and move forward where there’s common ground. South Florida is counting on us to solve problems by working to create jobs, reduce gun violence and protect Medicare and Social Security.”
Congresswoman Frankel was joined at the State of the Union by her guest Lynn McDonnell, whose daughter Grace, 7, was tragically killed in the Newtown massacre. McDonnell’s husband Chris attended the State of the Union as the guest of Congresswoman Gloria Negrete McLeod.
