Frankel Statement on House Republicans’ Zika Bill
Today, Congresswoman Lois Frankel (FL-22) issued the following statement in opposition to House Republicans’ inadequate plan to address the Zika virus. In February, President Obama requested $1.9 billion to combat this crisis. H.R. 5243 would provide $622 million – less than one-third of the funding requested – to combat the spread of the virus.
“House Republicans’ response to the Zika emergency shortchanges a public health crisis and especially leaves young families vulnerable to tragic circumstances,” Frankel said.
