Rep. Frankel Votes to Provide Critical Assistance to Israel, Ukraine, Taiwan, Alongside Worldwide Humanitarian Aid

Washington, DC – Today, Representative Lois Frankel (FL-22) released the following statement after voting to send aid to Israel, Ukraine, and Taiwan, and provide worldwide humanitarian assistance.

“This aid package reinforces our steadfast commitment to our allies, our own national security, and to democracy around the world,” said Rep. Frankel. “As Israel defends itself against Hamas, Iran, and other hostile Iranian proxies; Ukraine combats Putin’s brutal invasion; Taiwan confronts Chinese aggression; and civilians in Gaza and around the world face dire circumstances, I was proud to vote to send this vital aid to our partners in need.”

The package also includes $400 million for the Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NSGP), which provides funding for security enhancements to nonprofit organizations that are at high risk of a terrorist attack, including temples, mosques, and other religious institutions. According to the ADL, 2023 was the worst year for antisemitic incidents on record in the United States, including a 320 percent increase in antisemitic incidents in Palm Beach County from 2022.

The package will now need to pass the Senate before President Biden can sign it into law.
