Frankel Recognizes America’s Disabled Veterans

Today, Congresswoman Lois Frankel (FL-22) recognized the one-year anniversary of the American Veterans Disabled for Life Memorial. The memorial serves as a permanent reminder of the enduring sacrifices of America’s 3.6 million veterans currently living with a service-related disability.

“The Memorial is a beautiful tribute recognizing the sacrifices of our disabled veterans,” said Rep. Frankel. “As the mother of a veteran myself, I join with my fellow Americans to let our injured servicemen and women know that they will not be forgotten.”

Earlier this year, Frankel introduced a measure with broad Congressional support honoring disabled veterans on October 5th of each year. The measure was reported favorably out of the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs last month. The anniversary of the memorial’s dedication provides an opportunity to express appreciation for the men and woman who suffer from service-connected disabilities and to recognize their enduring struggles.
