Reps. Deutch, Frankel Sworn In During Local Ceremony in Delray Beach

Delray Beach, FL – Today, Representatives Ted Deutch (FL-22) and Lois Frankel (FL-21) were sworn in as Members of the U.S. House of Representatives for the 115th Congress.

The swearing-in ceremony took place at Delray Beach City Hall and included a performance by the S.D. Spady Elementary School Choir and a Presentation of Colors by Local Municipal Fire Departments from Palm Beach County. Invocation was given by Rabbi Anthony Fratello of Shaarei Shalom and the Oath of Office was administered by Delray Beach Mayor Cary Glickstein.

“I’m honored to serve the people of the 22nd District of Florida,” said Deutch. “I am committed to working tirelessly every day in the House to promote and protect the interests of my constituents, like fighting attempts to weaken Medicare and cut Social Security and encouraging policies to spur job growth and innovation in our vibrant business community. And I will use my seat in Congress to demand that our President-elect upholds the Constitution, protects our nation from threats, and works for every single American.”

“It is an honor to begin my third term in Congress, serving the South Florida community that I love,” said Frankel. “I look forward to continuing my work to bring jobs to our area and protect Medicare and Social Security. I will continue to be a staunch advocate for human rights and access to full health care for all. As the proud mother of a Marine war veteran, I will always stand up for the men and women in our military. A particular focus for the 115th Congress is my role as Co-Chair of the Bi-partisan Women’s Caucus, where I will work with my colleagues from both sides of the aisle on issues important to the advancement of women and girls.”
