Congressional Art Competition

2026 Congressional Art Competition

I am pleased to announce that my office will once again participate in the annual Congressional Art Competition, and I invite all high school students from Florida’s 22nd Congressional District to enter. This nationwide competition celebrates the artistic achievements of high school students across the country. The first-place winner from our district will have their artwork displayed in the U.S. Capitol alongside winning pieces from other congressional districts. I greatly look forward to seeing the incredible talent our district has to offer.

Each spring, Members of the U.S. House of Representatives sponsor the Congressional Art Competition to recognize and encourage artistic expression among young people. Since its inception in 1982, the competition has provided more than 650,000 high school students nationwide with the opportunity to showcase their creativity and be recognized for their artistic accomplishments.

Requirements/Eligibility:

  • The competition is open to all high school students in FL-22. 7th and 8th grade students may participate in the art competition if your school located in the district houses 7th through 12th grades on one campus.
  • Artwork entered in the contest must be two-dimensional and can be no larger than 26” x 26” x 4”, including the frame. The artwork may be:
    • Paintings - including oil, acrylics, and watercolor, etc.
    • Drawings - including pastels, colored pencil, pencil, charcoal, ink, and markers
    • Collage (must be two dimensional)
    • Prints - including lithographs, silkscreen, and block prints
    • Mixed Media
    • Computer Generated Art
    • Photographs
  • Each entry must be original in concept, design, and execution and may not violate U.S. copyright laws. Any entry copied from an existing photo or image (including a painting, graphic, or advertisement) created by someone other than the student violates competition rules and will not be accepted.
  • Artwork will hang in Washington, DC, from June 2026 to May 2027. Do not submit artwork that will be needed for other purposes during that period. The deadline to submit your artwork to our office will be April 17th, 2026.
