West Palm Beach, FL – Today, Congresswoman Lois Frankel (FL-21) announced the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) is awarding five grants, a total of $85,000, to local cultural institutions to support programming.
“Arts and culture enrich our lives and propel our economy. The grants awarded to these deserving institutions will help them reach out to our diverse population,” said Rep. Frankel.
$20,000 to the Spady Cultural Heritage Museum in Delray Beach to support the exhibition Eroica: Black, Brown, Red and Yellow Comic Book Narratives
$15,000 to the Cultural Council of Palm Beach County in Lake Worth for their Institute for Cultural Advancement, a professional development program for local cultural organizations
$10,000 to the Palm Beach Poetry Festival, based in Lake Worth, to support the festival and related programming.
$30,000 to the Norton Museum of Art in West Palm Beach for a new artist-in-residence program.
$10,000 to Palm Beach Opera in West Palm Beach for the Apprentice Artist Program.
The NEA is an independent federal agency created in 1965. It provides funding and support for Americans to participate in the arts, celebrating our diverse cultural heritage and promoting access to art in all communities.
