Rep. Frankel Announces Millions in Reimbursements for Local Law Enforcement, Town of Palm Beach

West Palm Beach, FL – Rep. Lois Frankel (FL-21) issued the following statement after the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, West Palm Beach Police Department, and Town of Palm Beach were reimbursed more than $3.9 million for protecting the President during his visits to South Florida:

“Trump’s many trips to Mar-a-Lago have significant impact on local budgets. This money will provide much needed relief. I will continue working with colleagues to make sure our community is provided with appropriate, timely federal compensation as long as the President continues to call Palm Beach his home.”

The amounts of each reimbursement are:

  • Palm Beach County Sherriff’s Office: $3,863,741
  • West Palm Beach Police Department: $57,597
  • Town of Palm Beach: $15,102

As a member of the Appropriations Committee, Rep. Frankel has advocated for these reimbursements and will continue to support full funding for the grant program.

Reimbursements are distributed through the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Presidential Residence Protection Assistance Grant, which compensates law enforcement for overtime costs associated with protecting President Trump at his non-governmental residences. Since his election, President Trump has spent 143 days at Mar-a-Lago with more visits expected.
