“Hurricanes wreak havoc on communities and on our local budgets,” said Rep. Frankel. “These grants will provide much needed relief to cover the cost of essential measures taken during and after Hurricane Irma, especially at a time when local government budgets are already stretched thin due to the COVID-19 pandemic.”

The grant amounts are:

  • $1,133,875 to the City of Boca Raton for emergency protective measures.
  • $1,663,132 to Lake Worth for utility repairs.
  • $2,869,393 to Palm Beach County Schools for emergency protective measures.
