Rep. Frankel Applauds Support for Florida’s Older Americans

West Palm Beach, FL – Today, Representative Lois Frankel (FL-21) announced the release of $214 million in funding for critical Older Americans Act programs as part of the American Rescue Plan she voted to pass.

“Older Americans have been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic, which has shone a harsh light on the cracks in our long-term care system,” said Rep. Frankel. “This funding from the American Rescue Plan will help fill the gaps in services that seniors rely on to age with dignity, and address the critical health and economic needs of older Americans, including access to vaccines, caregiver support, mental health resources, and more.”

As Older Americans Month begins, this funding focuses on programs to support Florida seniors with an emphasis on much-needed pandemic relief. Palm Beach County residents can access assistance through local aging agencies here, or by calling 211.
