Rep. Frankel Statement on Juneteenth

West Palm Beach, FL – Today, Rep. Lois Frankel (FL-21) issued the following statement commemorating Juneteenth.

“Juneteenth is a day to celebrate the end of slavery and freedom for all Black Americans, and a day to remember that the fight for equality and justice continues,” said Rep. Frankel. “This week, my colleagues and I voted to make Juneteenth a federal holiday, so that all Americans can take the time to learn about our history and work toward achieving the ideals of liberty and justice for all.”

Legislation to make Juneteenth a federal holiday passed the House and Senate and was signed into law by President Biden on June 17th.
