Washington, DC – Today, Representative Lois Frankel (FL-21), issued the following statement in response to Governor DeSantis claiming credit for bonuses given to Florida first responders thanks to the American Rescue Plan, which Democrats in Congress and the Biden Administration passed into law last year despite efforts to block the bill from Congressional Republicans.

“First responders deserve the bonuses they got today for the work they do,” said Rep. Frankel. “It’s disappointing that the Governor did not thank President Biden and Congressional Democrats for providing the funding for this extra pay. Sadly, all Republicans in Congress opposed the legislation providing these funds.”
