Rep. Frankel Statement Commemorating Juneteenth

West Palm Beach, FL – Today, Congresswoman Lois Frankel (FL-21) released the following statement in honor of Juneteenth.

“I’m proud to join with millions of Americans across our nation in celebration of Juneteenth, which honors the freedom and emancipation of the last enslaved African Americans on June 19, 1865,” said Rep. Frankel. “All should use this day and every day to learn more about Black history, reflect on progress and forge a promise to continue the work to ensure equality and opportunity for all.”

Last year, Rep. Frankel joined her colleagues in passing a bill signed by President Biden making Juneteenth a federal holiday. This year marks its second official nationwide observance.
