Rep. Frankel Statement on DeSantis Attempt to Intimidate Voters of Color

Washington, DC – Today, Congresswoman Lois Frankel (FL-21), released the following statement in response to arrests made by Governor DeSantis’ election police. Most arrests were Black Floridians who registered to vote after being told by State officials they were qualified under Florida’s law that restores felon voting rights. They now face prison time.

“This is a dangerous, political stunt aimed at scaring voters,” said Rep. Frankel. “These 20 Floridians were arrested after being told by State officials that they were qualified to vote and could participate in the election. It’s a sad day for our democracy.”
