Rep. Frankel Responds to President Biden’s State of the Union Address

Washington, DC – Today, Congresswoman Lois Frankel (FL-22) released the following statement in response to President Biden’s State of the Union address.

“During the past two years of leadership under President Biden, Vice President Harris, and Congressional Democrats, our economy has started recovering and unemployment has dropped to a historic low. We are rebuilding America with new roads and bridges, cleaner water, and better access to high-speed internet. We are boosting manufacturing at home, lowering health care costs, and lowering our energy bills,” said Rep. Frankel. “As the President told us tonight, now is the time to finish the job. He made it clear we can continue to invest in America in a fiscally responsible way that reduces the deficit, without cutting Social Security or Medicare, and stand up for women's reproductive freedom and the health of our veterans.”

Rep. Frankel’s guest for the State of the Union address this year is Janet of Delray Beach, FL. Janet is a retired nurse who earned her Social Security and Medicare benefits through a lifetime of hard work, and now relies on them to pay for her daily needs.

She is one of roughly 66 million Americans, 5 million Floridians, and 200,000 residents of Palm Beach County who rely on Social Security and Medicare benefits that are now threatened by the MAGA Republican agenda.
