Rep. Frankel Slams Republican Budget That Guts Essential Benefits to Pay for Billionaire Tax Breaks

Washington, DC – Today, Representative Lois Frankel (FL-22) released the following statement after voting against the Republican budget framework: “The Republican budget is a dangerous roadmap—laying the groundwork for the largest cuts to Medicaid and food assistance in U.S. history, all to fund massive tax breaks for billionaires and big corporations,” said Rep. Frankel. “That means millions of Americans will lose their health care and struggle to put food on the table. A responsible budget should lower costs for hardworking families. That’s what I’m fighting for.” The resolution passed by a vote of 216-214. Every House Democrat voted no.
