Today, Rep. Lois Frankel (FL-22) released the following statement marking five years since the attack on the Capitol on January 6, 2021. 


“Five years ago, a violent group attacked our Capitol, attempting to stop the peaceful transfer of power from Donald Trump to Joe Biden,” said Rep. Frankel. “It was one of the darkest days in our history, and one of the most horrifying days of my life as I hid from the mob. I remain deeply grateful for the heroism of our Capitol Police officers who kept our democracy standing. Five years later, we must all recommit to protecting our democracy from those who seek to undermine it.”
