Congresswoman Lois Frankel (FL-22) issued the following statement regarding the signing of a new ten-year Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for at least $38 billion in U.S. military aid to Israel.
“Threats from all fronts jeopardize the safety of our greatest ally in the Middle East,” Frankel said. “This historic deal will provide Israel with the resources to defend itself while underscoring the United States’ unwavering friendship with the Jewish state.”
The MOU, signed this week by Israel’s acting National Security Adviser, Yaakov Nagel, at a Department of State ceremony, constitutes the single largest pledge of U.S. military assistance to any country. Under this agreement, Israel can acquire the next generation of fighter jets, anti-missile technology, and tunnel detection advancements. This robust and long-term agreement will give Israel the resources and certainty necessary to plan for and address its security needs through 2029.
