Frankel Statement on the Inauguration

Today, Congresswoman Lois Frankel (FL-21) issued the following statement about the inauguration:

“While our country is politically divided, it still remains that one of the most important hallmarks of American democracy is the peaceful transition of power. I will be attending the 2017 inauguration in the spirit of bipartisanship and a signal to those watching that our government belongs to all the people. With that said, I have great respect for my Democratic colleagues who are boycotting the ceremony in a peaceful way to express their deep misgivings about the incoming President. On Saturday I will be joining many of them and people from across the nation as part of the Women’s March. We will be sending a clear message to all that we stand united, with our diverse communities, for the protection of our hard gained rights.”
