Congresswoman Lois Frankel opposed a partisan Continuing Resolution today that makes funding our government beyond September 30 contingent upon defunding the Affordable Care Act and denying millions of Americans health care coverage. Frankel, who believes Congress should put forward a sincere effort to avert a government shutdown, released the following statement:
“I stand with millions of Americans who are sick of the game-playing in Congress,” Frankel said. “It’s time for the House to come together in a reasonable way to avoid a government shutdown that could hurt our fragile economy and disrupt Social Security and veteran benefits.
