Frankel Named to Transportation and Infrastructure Subcommittees

Congresswoman Lois Frankel (FL-22) today was appointed to the Transportation and Infrastructure subcommittees on Highways and Transit, Water Resources and the Environment, and the Coast Guard and Maritime Transportation.

“Transportation drives South Florida’s economy and that’s why I am so eager to work to: create jobs; invest in roads, bridges and transit; protect the Everglades and our shorelines; and address maritime transportation issues,” said Congresswoman Lois Frankel.

Frankel is the sole South Florida Representative on the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.  The 22nd District that Frankel represents includes and or touches upon two major ports, two international airports, Interstate 95, two major rail systems, an expansive marine industry, and nearly 70 miles of coastline. Port and rail expansion are important projects currently on the drawing board in the District.
