Rep. Frankel Votes for Humanitarian Assistance for Children and Families at the Border

Washington, DC – Today, Appropriations Committee member Representative Lois Frankel (FL-21) released the following statement after voting for the supplemental appropriations bill to aid the humanitarian crisis at the border:

“Children seeking refuge in our country shouldn’t be sleeping on cement floors or living in overcrowded, unsanitary living conditions. Having seen this horrific situation firsthand, I know we must do better. With this supplemental appropriations, House Democrats are providing needed resources like legal assistance, food, and medical services, while reversing Trump’s reckless decision to block assistance to Central American countries. Now, it’s time to fix our broken immigration system by strengthening border security and creating a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants who work hard and pay taxes.”
