Rep. Frankel Applauds $13 Million CDC Grant to Florida

West Palm Beach, FL – Today, Rep. Lois Frankel (FL-21) issued the following statement after the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) awarded an additional $13.4 million to Florida to support the state’s COVID-19 response. Last month, Florida received $27.7 million from the CDC.

“The coronavirus pandemic is bearing down on Florida and our health care system is taking a direct hit,” said Rep. Frankel. “This critical funding will be used to strengthen our public health infrastructure and save lives.”

The funding will support a range of activities such as purchase and maintenance of lab equipment, purchase of medical supplies, and hiring of additional staff, among other things.
