Rep. Frankel Statement on Passage of the State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs Appropriations Bill

Washington, D.C. – Today, Representative Lois Frankel (FL-21), member of the House Appropriations Committee, issued the following statement after voting to pass the State, Foreign Operations, and Related Program bill for Fiscal Year 2022 through the House.

“I’m proud to support this bill which, in the words of President Biden, says that the United States is back on the world stage,” said Rep. Frankel. “The bill is proudly pro-Israel, and fulfills our commitment to her security, which is our security too. It reflects the importance of diplomatic and development assistance and cooperation with valuable partners to advance peace and prosperity around the world, and rebuilds public health infrastructure, confronts climate change, and advances basic education in undeveloped nations. The bill recognizes that when girls and women succeed, the world succeeds by investing in education, health, maternal care, and more. Notably, the bill removes harmful provisions of law that restrict funding for abortion and prevent patients from receiving truthful information on the full range of safe and legal reproductive health options.”

Rep. Frankel, who serves on the State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs Appropriations subcommittee, championed provisions included in the final bill to fund global women’s health and progress, and support the US-Israel relationship.
