Rep. Frankel Celebrates Signing of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act

Washington, DC – Today, Congresswoman Lois Frankel (FL-21) released the following statement after attending President Biden’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act signing ceremony at the White House.

“The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act is a historic win for Florida and for all Americans,” said Rep. Frankel. “I was honored to be in attendance as President Joe Biden signed this legislation into law to create millions of good paying jobs, modernize our bridges, roads, and public transportation systems, and make historic investments in broadband, electric vehicles, green infrastructure and clean drinking water. I look forward to working to pass the rest of the Biden Administration’s Build Back Better Agenda soon.”

The bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, also known as the Bipartisan Infrastructure Framework:

  • Makes the largest federal investment in public transit ever;
  • Makes the largest federal investment in passenger rail since the creation of Amtrak;
  • Makes the single largest dedicated bridge investment since the construction of the interstate highway system;
  • Makes the largest investment in clean drinking water and waste water infrastructure in American history, delivering clean water to millions of families;
  • Makes high-speed internet accessible to all Americans;
  • Makes the largest investment in clean energy transmission and electric vehicle infrastructure in history; electrifying thousands of school and transit buses across the country; and creating a new Grid Deployment Authority to build a resilient, clean, 21st century electric grid;
