Rep. Frankel Highlights Signing of Law Bolstering Veterans’ Health Care

President Biden Signs Honoring Our PACT Act, a Frankel Priority, Into Law

West Palm Beach, FL – Today, Congresswoman Lois Frankel (FL-21), member of the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee, released the following statement after President Biden signed the Honoring Our Promise to Address Comprehensive Toxics (PACT) Act into law.

“As the mother of a US Marine war veteran, I know the pride and sacrifice of our men and women in uniform. My family is blessed, my son remains healthy,” said Rep. Frankel. “But too many of our brave heroes of war who were exposed to environmental hazards and toxic substances during their service—including burn pits—suffer from related illnesses like cancer and respiratory disorders. This legislation honors our commitment to those affected by providing them health care and other benefits.”

The Honoring Our PACT Act is comprehensive legislation that will treat toxic exposure as a cost of war by addressing the full range of issues impacting toxic-exposed veterans, including access to earned benefits and health care through the VA.
