Washington, DC – Today, Representative Lois Frankel (FL-21) released the following statement announcing grants for more than $700,000 for community health care centers in Palm Beach County to expand COVID-19 vaccine distribution. “We have learned a hard lesson these past two years about how the rampant spread of a virus can negatively impact our health and our economy,” said Rep. Frankel. “As we experience another spike in COVID-19 cases, it is important to have COVID-19 vaccines available for those who want it.” The new funding is part of a $350 million initiative of the Department of Health and Human Services to provide funding to health centers across the country to increase COVID-19 vaccine distribution in underserved populations. This funding will support health centers as they administer updated COVID-19 vaccines at mobile, drive-up, walk-up, or community-based vaccination events. The $700,000 will be distributed as follows: $110,614 for Genesis Community Health, $361,336 for the Health Care District of Palm Beach County, and $237,226 for FoundCare.
