Rep. Frankel Statement on Rollout of New Benefits for Toxic-Exposed Veterans

Washington, DC – Today, Congresswoman Lois Frankel (FL-21), member of the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee, released the following statement on the rollout of new health care benefits for veterans exposed to burn pits, Agent Orange, and other toxic substances during their service. The Honoring Our PACT Act, which President Biden signed into law earlier this year, adds to the list of health conditions that have been linked to exposure of these substances.

“As the mother of a U.S. Marine war veteran, I recognize the sacrifice our servicemembers are willing to make to protect our freedoms. That’s why ensuring they have access to the health care they need to live healthy, fulfilling lives when they return home is a priority for me,” said Rep. Frankel. “The Honoring Our PACT Act is a comprehensive law that treats toxic exposure as a cost of war by addressing the full range of issues impacting veterans, including access to earned benefits and health care through the VA.”
