Rep. Frankel Reflects on Two-Year Anniversary of January 6th Insurrection

Congresswoman Frankel participates in a moment of silence in honor of those who lost their lives or were injured during the January 6th Insurrection.

Washington, DC – Today, Congresswoman Lois Frankel (FL-22) released the following statement as the United States marked two years since the January 6th Insurrection.

“On January 6th, 2021, like many of my Congressional colleagues, I spent hours behind a barricaded door in the Capitol as a violent mob stormed the halls in an attempt to stop the lawful transfer of power to President Biden. I am so grateful for the heroic officers who risked their own lives protecting us,” said Rep. Frankel. “In a democracy, nobody is above the law, including the former President of the United States. The final report issued by the January 6th Select Committee contains several legislative recommendations to prevent another deadly attack that I urge my colleagues, Republican and Democrat, to pursue on a bipartisan basis.”
