Statement from Reps. Frankel and Deutch on FAA Announcing Boca Airport Control Tower Closure
Boca Raton, FL,
March 22, 2013
Congressman Ted Deutch and Congresswoman Lois Frankel released the following statement after the FAA announced today that the Boca Airport control tower will close effective April 7, due to across-the-board budget cuts known as the sequester: “We’ve made several requests to the FAA and Department of Transportation urging them to keep the control tower at Boca Raton Airport open. We’re seeing the real, local impacts of the mindless across-the board budget cuts known as the sequester with this control tower closure. It’s time for Congress to come together and solve the sequester. On behalf of our constituents we will continue to fight to make sure planes coming in and out of Boca Raton Airport are safe.”
