Rep. Lois Frankel (D-FL-22), Ranking Member of the House National Security, Department of State, and Related Programs Appropriations Subcommittee released the following statement today after U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced that President Trump’s budget director, Russell Vought, would oversee the closeout of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).
"Secretary Rubio has announced that Trump’s budget director, Russell Vought—an isolationist and the architect of Project 2025—is now closing out USAID, the agency meant to fight poverty and disease abroad,” said Rep. Frankel. “He’s on course to abandon our allies, embolden our adversaries, and endanger our children’s future.”
