The gavel was passed Thursday night to the new co-chairwoman of the bipartisan Congressional Caucus for Women’s Issues. The Democratic co-chairwoman is U.S. Rep. Lois Frankel, who represents parts of Palm Beach County. (As of Tuesday, when the new Congress was sworn in, Frankel no longer represents any of Broward County. The parts of Broward that used to be Frankel territory and now in U.S. Rep. Ted Deutch’s district.) The Republican co-chairwoman is U.S. Rep. Susan Brooks of Indiana. Frankel said caucus members look to find common ground on “issues important to the advancement of women and girls.” |
