Congresswoman Lois Frankel (FL-22) released the following statement on the Senate’s passage of comprehensive immigration reform.

“I applaud the Senate’s passage of bipartisan comprehensive immigration reform. Now it’s time for the House to follow suit with a similar bipartisan approach that creates a new immigration process reflecting our values. We need a roadmap to citizenship where aspiring Americans pay taxes, families stay together and students who go to school here can continue to contribute to our economy.”

Frankel’s grandfather was an immigrant who came to America for a better life. He had humble beginnings in the United States, first working as a candler and then as a watchmaker and jeweler.
