WEST PALM BEACH, FL -- Today Congresswoman Lois Frankel (FL-21) issued the following statement in response to President Trump declaring the opioid crisis a public health emergency:
 
"President Trump's opioid announcement is all show, no money. Nearly 50,000 Americans died in 2016 from opioid or heroin overdoses and the number of overdose deaths has quadrupled since 2000. The federal public heath emergency fund has $57,000. Trump's announcement is what we call fake news."
