Rep. Frankel Promotes Women’s Economic Empowerment and Opportunities with State of the Union Guest

WEST PALM BEACH, FL – February 4, 2019 –Today, Congresswoman Lois Frankel (FL-21) announced Kim Churches, CEO of the American Association of University Women (AAUW), will be her guest to President Trump’s State of the Union address tomorrow night at 9:00 PM ET in Washington, DC.

Frankel, Chair of the Democratic Women’s Working Group, will be wearing white along with House Democrats, promoting the message of economic security for women and families.

“Kim is a champion advocate of policies that advance the economic security of women and their families. She guides an organization that has been a leading collaborating force for equal pay, education equity, and family-friendly workplaces,” said Frankel.

Since its founding in 1881, AAUW has been one of the nation’s leading voices advancing equity and education for women and girls. It’s a nonpartisan, fact-based organization that seeks to advance gender equality for women and girls through research, education, and advocacy.

“I am honored to be joining Congresswoman Frankel to watch this historic State of the Union address on behalf of AAUW,” said Kim Churches. “Our 170,000 AAUW members and advocates are incredibly grateful for Congresswoman Frankel’s leadership and focus on equal rights. She’s always been a force in breaking down barriers women face in the workplace, education and in our communities. In a year where exponentially more women are serving in Congress than ever before, I look forward to working together with Congresswoman Frankel and her colleagues to advance gender equity.”
