In South Florida, protecting our environment is essential to our health, communities, and economy. As a member of the Everglades Caucus, I work with the Florida delegation to champion Everglades restoration projects to improve natural habitats and water supply and quality for over nine million Floridians. As a result of billions of dollars in federal and state investment, more than 65 Everglades restoration and resilience projects have been completed, started, or hit major milestones since 2019.

I am also proud to have supported the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), the most substantial legislation to combat climate change in our nation’s history. By investing more than $369 billion to help build a clean energy economy, the IRA is already increasing our country's renewable energy production, lowering energy costs, reducing emissions, and creating good-paying jobs.
