Frankel Statement Following Iran Nuclear Agreement Vote

Congresswoman Lois Frankel (FL-22) today issued the following statement after the House of Representatives voted 269-162 to reject H.R. 3461, a resolution to approve the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action related to the nuclear program of Iran.

“We have had a vigorous debate in Congress and across the nation,” Frankel said. “Americans on both sides of the issue must now work together in moving forward to protect the security of our country and our allies, and stop the carnage of terrorist activity.”

On Thursday, the Senate voted 58-42 to block consideration of a measure intended to disapprove of the agreement, effectively ending opponents’ attempts to derail the accord.
