Washington, DC – Today, Congresswoman Lois Frankel (FL-22) released the following statement after the Supreme Court handed down its decision in FDA v. Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine. The Court unanimously rejected extreme anti-abortion advocates’ attempt to ban mifepristone because the plaintiffs did not have legal standing to bring a claim. While this could leave the door open to new challenges, for now, mifepristone remains available and on the market.

“Mifepristone is a safe and effective medication that women have been taking for decades. While we breathe a sigh of relief that today the Supreme Court ruled to keep it on the market, the baseless attacks by far-right extremist anti-abortion groups will not stop here,” said Rep. Frankel. “We will continue fighting for women's rights to control their own health, lives, and futures.”
