New Social Security Office Opens

Frankel Takes Tour

Congresswoman Lois Frankel (FL-22) joined Social Security Administration officials today in a tour of the new permanent home of the West Palm Beach Social Security office. The new office, located on 801 Clematis Street, offers a vastly improved facility in a convenient location in downtown West Palm Beach.

“Social Security is our nation's most important program for older Americans. Two out of 3 seniors rely on Social Security benefits for most of their income,” said Frankel. “This new facility is welcome relief for thousands of recipients and the people who serve them.”

In 2014, the West Palm Beach Social Security office began operating out of a smaller, temporary location at 801 Banyan Blvd. after officials closed its old Congress Avenue facility due to health concerns from an aging air conditioning and ventilation system. Since then, Congresswoman Frankel has worked with the General Services Administration and Social Security Administration officials in Washington to expedite the creation of a new permanent office.

The new location replaces the temporary Banyan Blvd. site immediately and three “outreach centers” at the Mandel Public Library and the Gardens and Lantana Road library branches as of Jan. 29.

The new West Palm Beach office opens today and its normal business hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday between 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Wednesday between 9 a.m. and noon.
