Rep. Frankel Statement on President Trump’s Climate Change (“Denial”) Executive Order

Today Congresswoman Lois Frankel (FL-21) issued the following statement after President Trump signed an Executive Order that will terminate former President Barack Obama's Clean Power Plan that required states to slash carbon emissions from power plants - a critical element in helping the United States meet its commitments to a global climate change accord reached by nearly 200 countries in Paris in 2015.

“Contrary to President Trump’s declaration of taking historic steps to cancel job-killing regulations, there is no potential job killer greater than ignoring the growing consequences of climate change. Rising sea levels, droughts, famines, ocean acidification are just a few of the impacts of global warming. The White House’s denial of science sends an ominous message to the rest of the world.”
