West Palm Beach, FL – Rep. Lois Frankel (FL-21) issued the following statement after President Trump visited Lake Okeechobee:

“Any water level decision on Lake Okeechobee must be based on science, not politics. The proposal to drop the lake to 10.5 feet threatens the availability of water to south Florida. The Trump Administration should focus on restoring the flow of Florida’s river of grass. Their proposed funding cuts to Everglades restoration will delay needed projects to protect clean water for 8 million people, our ecosystem, and south Florida economic vibrancy.”
