Israel is the United States’ closest and most important ally in an increasingly unstable region. The bond between our two countries is rooted in our shared national interest as well as our shared values of democracy, rule of law, and the protection of basic human rights. This relationship strengthens both our nations. Israeli advancements in technology, medicine, and defense, help improve and protect the lives of people around the world.
As a member of the State and Foreign Operations subcommittee, and having visited Israel multiple times, Congresswoman Frankel recognizes the critical importance of this relationship and continues to work to strengthen our alliance. In Congress, she helped secure additional funding for Israel’s Iron Dome defense systems, supported legislation to designate Israel as a “major strategic partner” of the United States, and is working to prevent the shared threat of Iran becoming a threshold nuclear weapons state. |
